Need stiff, light PETG parts without fighting the print? Matter 3D Performance PETg Carbon Fiber is made in Victoria, BC with premium PETg and high-modulus carbon fiber. It is built for structural prints that still feel easy to run.
Pick 10% for quicker prototyping, or 15% when you need more stiffness and strength for real-use parts. Spools are Bambu AMS friendly (plug-and-play spool fit).
What’s the difference?
- 10% carbon fiber: Great for prototypes and quick prints when max toughness is not the main goal.
- 15% carbon fiber: Better for functional parts that need higher stiffness, tensile strength, and impact resistance.
Why makers pick it
- Higher stiffness and better dimensional stability than plain PETG
- Strong surface quality for carbon-fiber filled filament
- Light, rigid parts for brackets, fixtures, and structural pieces
- Canadian-made, compounded and extruded in-house by Matter 3D
Good for
- Functional prototypes and mechanical parts
- Jigs, fixtures, and shop aids
- Brackets, mounts, RC and robotics parts
- Other high-stiffness structural prints
Recommended print settings (Matter 3D)
- Nozzle: 235–260°C
- Bed: 75–90°C
- Cooling: 30–50%
- Speed: 40–70 mm/s preferred for CF grades (general PETG range 50–100 mm/s)
- Retraction: 0.6–1.2 mm at 25–40 mm/s
- Dry at 65°C for 4–6 hours if the filament has picked up moisture
Use a hardened steel, tungsten carbide, or ruby nozzle. Carbon fiber is abrasive. PETG can stick hard to build plates, so protect the plate (glue stick or smooth PEI helps).
Typical mechanical numbers (Matter 3D testing)
- Stiffness: 10% about 3.0–3.8 GPa; 15% about 3.5–4.5 GPa
- Tensile strength: 10% about 55–65 MPa; 15% about 60–70 MPa
- Impact (notched Izod): 10% about 10 J/m; 15% about 15 J/m
- HDT: about 75–80°C
Values are approximate from Matter 3D’s published testing.
What’s in each spool
- 1.75 mm Matter 3D Performance PETg Carbon Fiber
- 1 kg spool
- Choose 10% or 15% carbon fiber loading
