Want parts that stay stiff and true? RepRap Official ABS-GF has 10% glass fibre mixed into ABS. You get a more rigid part that shrinks less and warps less than plain ABS.

It is made for work. Think jigs, fixtures, brackets and tool parts. It keeps the toughness of ABS, has a matte finish and machines well after printing. It is made in Canada and backed by RepRap Warehouse.

Start near the middle of the range and tune from there.

Material

ABS-GF is ABS with short glass fibres mixed in. The fibres make parts stiffer, help them hold their size and add heat resistance.

Material ABS with 10% glass fibre
Diameter 1.75 mm
Net weight 1 kg
Spool Plastic spool, Bambu Lab compatible
Tensile strength 68 MPa
Impact strength (Charpy) 8 kJ/m²
Heat deflection temp (HDT) 110 °C
Finish Matte
Colours Black, Grey, White

Compatible Printers

Works with 1.75 mm FDM printers that have a hardened nozzle and reach 245 °C at the nozzle and 90 °C at the bed. Enclosed printers work best, like the Bambu Lab P1S, P2S, X2D, H2S, H2D and H2C with a hardened steel nozzle.

Good To Know

  • Glass fibre wears down brass nozzles. Use hardened steel or ruby.
  • It is built for stiffness. Plain ABS can take a hit a little better.
  • It is not made for long time in the sun. For outdoor parts, pick our ASA.
  • Each spool is laser measured for diameter and checked before packing.

Care and Storage

Keep the spool sealed with desiccant when not in use. If it has picked up moisture, dry it at 80 °C for 2 to 4 hours.

FAQ

Is it easier to print than regular ABS?
Often, yes. The fibres cut shrink and warp. An enclosed printer with low fan still works best.

Do I need a hardened nozzle?
Yes. Glass fibre is abrasive.

Can I drill or sand the parts?
Yes. It machines very well, so it is great for drill guides and fixtures.

Is it good outside?
It is strong and handles heat, but it is not made for long UV exposure. Use ASA for outdoor parts.

Can I buy in bulk?
Yes. Reach out and we will help.
