RepRapper Tech ABS

Need stronger everyday parts that hold more heat than PLA? RepRapper Tech ABS is our house-brand acrylonitrile butadiene styrene filament for functional prints you can sand, drill, paint, or acetone-smooth when you want a polished finish.

What's Included

• 1 × 1 kg (2.2 lb) spool of RepRapper Tech ABS, 1.75 mm
• Dried spool, vacuum-packed in a resealable bag with desiccant

Print Settings

• Nozzle: about 220–260°C (start near the middle of the band and tune)
• Bed: about 80–110°C (Kapton tape or PVA glue for bed stick)
• Fan: keep it low for a cleaner surface
• Dry if the spool sat open: ABS can pick up moisture and print worse when damp

Material

• ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
• 1.75 mm diameter; manufacturer tolerance about ±0.03 mm
• 1 kg net spool, dried and vacuum-packed with desiccant
• Stronger impact hold and higher heat hold than typical PLA for many everyday parts
• Printed parts sand, drill, paint, glue, and acetone-polish well when you need that finish

Good To Know

• ABS likes a hot bed and a solid first-layer plan. Use Kapton or PVA glue, and add a brim or raft on big footprints
• An enclosed printer helps adhesion and keeps fumes down. Print in a ventilated space
• Big parts can still warp if the room drafts or the bed cools mid-print. Slow the first layers and shut off strong part cooling
• ABS smells stronger than PLA while printing. That is normal for this material family
