RepRapper Tech Galaxy PLA

Want prints that sparkle like a night sky? RepRapper Tech Galaxy PLA is our house-brand glitter black PLA with metallic particles for a shiny galaxy finish. It prints like regular PLA, so it is an easy pick for gifts, decor, and display models.

What's Included

• 1 × 1 kg (2.2 lb) spool of RepRapper Tech Galaxy PLA, 1.75 mm
• Dried spool, vacuum-packed with desiccant (manufacturer pack)

Print Settings

• Nozzle: about 190–225°C (on-spool manufacturer label; start near the middle of the band and tune)
• Bed: about 40–60°C (brand PLA starting band)
• Speed: about 40–100 mm/s as a starting band, then tune for your printer
• Fan: on, like regular PLA
• Dry if the spool sat open: PLA can pick up moisture and print worse when damp

Material

• PLA with metallic glitter particles for a galaxy sparkle finish
• 1.75 mm diameter; manufacturer tolerance about ±0.03 mm
• 1 kg net spool, dried and vacuum-packed with desiccant
• Prints like regular PLA: solid layer stick and easy bed hold for most FDM machines
• Mechanically wound and checked to help cut tangles and feed snags

Good To Know

• Glitter particles catch light. Turn the print under a lamp or near a window to see the sparkle
• A slightly larger nozzle (about 0.6 mm) can help particle flow on some printers. Many jobs still run fine on 0.4 mm. Tune if you see snags
• Keep the spool dry. Seal it with the desiccant when you are done
• This finish is for looks. Use it when you want showy gifts and display pieces more than heavy outdoor wear
